What is special about Bagdad beach?

It was a very important commercial port, close to the city of Matamoros, Mexico. Due to Mexico's neutrality during the American Civil War, the Confederacy used this port to trade with other countries in the world; especially Habana (Cuba) and Europe.

In 1889 it was destroyed by a hurricane, and has been abandoned ever since.
