In WWE what was The Attitude Era?

Attitude Era in the WWE was a period in WWE's professional Wrestling history which began in the late 1990's (Around 1998) and went on until the early 2000's.

This era saw huge rise in popularity of the WWE especially the feud between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon was extremely famous and popular. Other teams like the De-generation X, and some great WWE personas like Mankind, The Rock etc added to the Attitude Eras glory.
