If you and this guy were good friends you can also add in "I really like you, I was going to ask you out as well" (Only add that in if you were thinking about asking this guy out) This is also a great conversation starter, if you're finding it really awkward going from friends to boyfriend and girlfriend. If you don't talk enough it could end the relationship.
