What does a ripe papaya look like?

There is three basic steps:

1. Look for a lot of yellow and red on the green skin.

2. Squezze the papaya gently; it should give a little if it is ripe.

3. Smell the fruit at the base where the stem was once attached; you should be able to smell a genuine papaya scent.
