Examples of safety precautions don't change much regardless of location(s):
- Don't horse around, play around, joke around where it is unsafe, or in an unsafe manner.
- Practice using safety.
- Walk, don't run inside.
- Don't slide down banisters.
- Use an object for the purposes it was intended. e.g. banister is for holding on not sliding down; a chair is for sitting, not standing; etc.)
- Don't run with scissors in your hand.
- Don't get too close to an edge on a high place.
- Hold on to rails.
- Keep sharp blades pointed downward when walking.
- Put things away.
- Keep things cleaned up; clean up after yourself.
- Use your legs to lift, not your back.
- Don't block pathways.
- Don't overload an electrical circuit.
- Check equipment and cords.
- Don't use faulty equipment or electrical cords.
- Don't put food on unclean surfaces.
- Don't mix raw meats or lay one meat where another meat had been sitting.
- Keep cold foods cold; warm foods warm; refrigerate properly.
- Cover your mouth when you cough; use the crook of your elbow, not your hand.
