Not all bacteria share characteristics such as the ability to form endospores, the presence of a flagellum for motility, or the capability to perform photosynthesis. Additionally, while most bacteria have a cell wall made of peptidoglycan, some, like Mycoplasma, lack a cell wall altogether. Variability in metabolic processes and reproduction methods also distinguishes different bacterial species.
