Questions why drugs should remain illegal?

Drugs remain illegal because really if you think of it they are really bad for you, they can cause severe health hazards, addiction and even death.

The reason that the drugs that are being illegally used should remain that way is because without the enormous industry associated with this activity there would be an economic disaster. For example, there would be a huge reduction in the need for insurance against theft, assault, accidents, and drug related death. The prisons would be just about empty because such a large number of people in prison are there as a result of drugs, which include the inmates and those charged with guarding them. The gun lobby would also be in a panic because thieves and murderers those that are at present engaged in drug crime would not need to purchase guns. Your local locksmith would be in trouble because so much of his business would become unnecessary. Even the electronics industry would stand to loose huge amounts of business because stolen electronic devices find a ready market among the ordinary man in the street, he would in future have to pay the full price or go without. at present this is largely covered by insurance. No it would be unwise to put the handling of recreational drugs into the hands of a responsible authority because a lot of good hard working honest people would stand to lose their means of income.
