What are the advantages and disadvantages with helicopters compared to planes?

Helicopters has a limited range compared to planes. Planes need a long pave to operate while helicopters can take off and land a lot more places. Also helicopters can "stand still" in the air while planes need to move all the time.

So depending on what you want to do they have different (dis)advantages.
