Sometimes. Dreaming is the brains way of resetting itself. (both the mind and the gray matter) The brain uses these dreams to sort through what has occurred both long and short term. Therefore, if a trauma has occurred (major or minor) the brain has to sort through it somehow, and that is where dreams come from. This is also why getting adequate sleep is important. The brain can only sort through itself when you are in deep, REM (rapid eye movement) sleep.
