What is secular year?

A secular year, also known as a calendar year, is a period of 365 days, or 366 days in a leap year, that is used in the Gregorian calendar, the most widely used civil calendar today. It begins on January 1 and ends on December 31. Unlike religious or lunar calendars, a secular year does not have any religious significance and is primarily used for civil purposes, such as business, governance, and daily life.
