If you give a three-phase supply to the rotor instead of the stator, the motor won’t work as intended. Most motors are designed for the stator to get the three-phase supply, which creates a rotating magnetic field. Supplying the rotor directly usually won’t produce proper rotation, may cause excessive current, and can damage the motor.
