That's probably impossible to answer, as very vew people ever make note of their frame numbers. And even if they do, there's no database that can be searched.

Basically there are two remote possibilities to come up with an answer:

- really expensive bikes are usually traced. The builder will know which serial numbers have gone to which shop, and the shop will usually note the buyer.

- Some people do note their serial numbers, and may report them to the police or their insurance company if the bike gets stolen.
