- Government of large organistion funded
- Multi purpose (targeting social and economic issues)
On the other hand bottom up projects are usually
- Smal scale
- Cheaper
- Funded by NGOs (non government organisations)
- Worked closely with local people to identify their needs
- Use appropriate or intermediate technology
