It really does depend on the type and severity of the stroke. Some strokes leave little lasting effect but others have major consequences. In most situations, consideration is the most important. There is likely to have been brain damage that can effect sight, mobility, speech etc but it is vital to remember that intelligence is not affected. You are still relating to the same person and the most benefit will be shown by exercising patience.
