Just because you are ectomorphic (thin body type) does not mean that you need to get fatter. It is your natural state of being. If you are very skinny, it could be a sign of an underlying disease such as adrenal disorder, among others.
If it is not disease-related then the only way to gain healthy weight would be to eat plenty of proteins (eggs, meat, etc).
