The dormant stratovolcano Citlaltépetl (also known as Pico de Orizaba) is in south central Mexico approximately 75 miles (110 km) west of Veracruz. With an elevation of 18,490 feet (5636 m), it is the tallest mountain in Central America and the third tallest in continental North America.
