What is courage of convictions?

You may be totally convinced that you have the answers to all the questions, for example how utterly important a piece of artwork, like a painting by Picasso, is to the art world and to art history but when it comes time to put your money where your mouth is suddenly you begin shaking in your boots 'n so you enlist the services of someone, usually known as an art appraiser, to make up your mind for you. The problem is, this person may have no better idea than you what this painting is actually worth but so long as you both play the game to your mutual benefit and advantage then both or you are happy. That is the true meaning of not having the courage of your convictions.
