What is the advantage of planting trees on the slope?

That when the tree is fully grown it may lean on your house and have to get cut down which costs alot, but you can try make it straight by using strings to tie it or even new with wooden planks to hold it straight, also it depends of its a gum tree you will have to use wood planks to make it grow straight if small trees dont worry..
