How did Saint George die?

It seems the whole life of Saint George is speculated. His birth and death dates are approximate (approx. between:275 AD and 285 AD), and are disputed by different researching entities. According to Robert D. Richardson, and Barry Moser, Emerson (1996), page 520, Saint George died due to being lynched by a mob that broke through into prison that hosted Saint George, but was going to execute him for his faith. It is said that the mob executed him for pillaging, and that he was also a known black market dealer of that historical time.
