How many hours do the actions of morphine last?

It all depends on how it is taken. Im assuming by IM OR IV, since 1mg is a small dose.

In an avg adult who isn't tolerant to opitates, 1MG of MS will last about 2 hours and takes about 15 mins to kick it.

Emergency departments are leaning towards using Dilaudid instread of Morphine Sulfate (MS). ( Dilaudid is a synthetic form of morphine, but up to 50 times more potent that regular MS))
