There are a lot of pistol-packing tea party types who for some reason like the idea of people resigning from the challenges of high office, such as governor of a certain far far northwest state, to go off and give speeches for $100,000 per. They don't want the health insurance system to change. It works, for them. But does it work for the country as a whole? Independence is a fine thing, but we also have an obligation to take care of each other. Some things you should not have to afford to have available to you. Following is a link to my blog on this issue.

Its interesting how the web works. You have a blog that supports a single pay system, but because it contains 'keyWords' such as 'insurance' and 'premium', ads from insurance companies show up!
What's wrong with the Health Insurance industry is that it doesn't make sense. Health care is available to all of us whether or not you pay premiums. You can always go to the emergency room for treatment. Maybe you won't go there for a check-up, but if you wait until you are sick, they will take you in an emergency even at a private hospital, or otherwise refer you to a county hospital.
So you get the care without the premium anyway. Its wrong. No checkup. No preventive care. Just emergency care. Its not right.
