It may depend on the laptop but there should be a key called "Prt Sc" or "Prt Scr" somewhere. Hit this (it may need to be used simultaneously with the function [fn] key) and the screenshot can then be pasted as an image using ctrl+v or click on paste in the edit menu of the application you're using to view it (e.g "Paint" in the Accessories folder).
