Is a stream bigger than a river?

A lake is a standing body of water, a stream is a flowing body of water. It is therefore almost meaningless to compare their sizes. However a stream usually flows into or out of a lake and therefore logically the lake will be bigger because it either receives or supplies all the water in the stream.
