What kind of technology of the new stone age had the most impact on daily life?

I imagine a deer antler pulled behind an ox could have been used as the first plough and two circular stones fitting together with a hole in the top one could have made a simple quern to grind corn. Control of fire to boil water and cook pancakes would make the difference between life and death in winter.
