What are commonwealth games medals made of?

The gold and silver medals are mostly silver. The gold medal is coated with about a quarter of an ounce of 24-karat gold.

The bronze medals are made of copper, zinc and tin with just a little bit of silver.

Each medal is about 2.5 inches in diameter and 0.12 inches thick.
