Rosetta, known as Rashid in Arabic, is a city located in Egypt on the western bank of the Nile River, approximately 65 kilometers northeast of Cairo. It is situated at the mouth of the Rosetta branch of the Nile Delta, where the river meets the Mediterranean Sea. Historically significant, Rosetta is famous for the discovery of the Rosetta Stone, which played a crucial role in deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs.
