Does anyone have the full procedure to reset a Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD DVR?

The best way is to do what is known as a hard reset'. That's simply accomplished by unplugging it for about 3-5 minutes and then plugging it back in. What this does, is cause the microchip's resident operating system to fully reboot and reacquire the satellite/cable signal. It may take several minutes for the machine to go through all the processes and you may have to manually go through the menu settings to put your personal settings (like favorites lists, etc.) into the receiver.
