How do you know your tongue is able to be pierced?

Earlobe piercings take at least 8 weeks to heal and ear cartilage takes at least 3-9 months. The placement for cartilage also plays a major part in healing time, thats why its such a big range.

Anyways, after the initial healing period, you won't experience swelling, tenderness, redness/discoloration, or bleeding (shouldnt be too much in the first place). So, you can change the jewelry after 2-3 months but it wont be completely healed for a while. Cartilage may seem like it "heals" quickly but then it'll kinda flare up. If you're not sure about whether its o to change the jewelry, go ask your piercer :)
