What are moeritheriums environment like?

Moeritherium, an early ancestor of elephants, lived during the late Eocene epoch, approximately 37 to 33 million years ago. It inhabited a semi-aquatic environment, predominantly in lush, swampy areas with abundant vegetation, including riverbanks and wetlands. This habitat provided ample food sources, such as soft plants and aquatic vegetation, which were essential for its herbivorous diet. Moeritherium is believed to have been well-adapted to both land and water, similar to modern-day hippos.
