In Caddy Shack does the last putt result in a tie?

Some say it all changed at the end when the bet was doubled, and everything involving a score tally meant nothing. Only making or not making the final put mattered,, but I wish a knowledgable golfer would answer this question for the world. Seems like the bet was doubled on the entire gig, ,,,winning game/set/ and match,,,not just the final hole.. Thing is,, Chevy says, " don't worry kid", "if you miss this, we lose." Well, he makes it,,, so,, they are tied and need to play at least one more hole, right?
