The color of the jade - black, dark green, Apple or light cream
Appearance: Does it have sparkles in it?

TYPES OF JADE and Pricing:

There is mutton type jade which is light in color, creamy with some
pink inclusions. Some say it's worthless, others say it's $75.00 lb or higher.

There is dark green jade which has a higher iron content
that will respond to a magnet. This is low grade nephrite.
This goes for as low as $2.00 /lb.

However, black jade, which has flowed it's way into Germany, is
considered rare if it's not magnetic, I don't know the price, it is rare
however.

Apple Green Jade is worth at least $50.00/lb. if it's not magnetic.

The things that degrade the nephrite jades worth is if there is sparkles in it.
This indicates mica and/or iron present in it which is considered to be an impurity.
If it isn't highly magnetic this type is worth $2.00 - $3.00 per pound, and as low
as a single dollar.
