What is the difference between joy and happiness?

you can look up a definition. but personnaly it is a matter of opinion.

joy: sheer elation; a metaphoric oasis of peace and love; absolute sound knowledge that you are pleased beyond reason; knowing in a moment that nothing could be better than it.

happiness: state of being happy or pleased; contentment This is a relative not absolute issue. In english, Joy and Happiness are two different things. in many languages, they are not. we must therefore take the context of the language into account before answering this. since nothing is eterenal in this life, it begs the question, shoudl Joy be eternal, if joy is attainable in this life at all.
