JWs offer their support when a loved one dies in many ways as long as it does not contradict with Biblical principals. Usually flowers are sent as a gesture of kindness to the family of the deceased. Funerals present a fine opportunity to comfort mourners with God’s message of the hope of the resurrection. As James 1:27 says: “The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation, and to keep oneself without spot from the world.” (NWT)
