How many days do the chinese new year celebrations last for?

This year, it started on the 14th February, and ended on the 28th, it doesnt just "end"

many people who celebrate it and live in England, fly to Hong Kong or China, to do a latern festival, they hold laterns down the Streets of China or Hong Kong at about 8:00pm.
