H. habilis had a cranial capacity slightly less than half of the size of modern humans. They were short, just over 4 ft tall with disproportionately long arms - more similar to the modern chimpanzee, than man.
Debates continue over whether H. habilis is a direct human ancestor - the size of the cranial cavity makes me think they did not have the mental capacity to form a religion or partake in any sort of meaningful ceremonies.
