Every person has what I call their own "dream language." This is a language made up of your many experiences in life, the concerns you may have when you go to sleep, and the tendency that we have to use certain objects, ideas, or language to express ourselves when we are asleep. For this reason it is difficult to know what "cotton plants" may mean to you as opposed to someone else. It may be helpful for you to reflect on some of the following:

  • Was it a positive, happy dream? Or was it a fearful or anxious dream?
  • What were you doing in the dream and how did you feel about it?
  • What do you think of when you think of cotton plants when you are awake?
  • Does it remind you of a place, person, or situation?

Sometimes, dreams don't have a special meaning but are either a re-recording of the day's event; or part of the way your brain organizes information. Much like a computer on a hard drive, it has to be defragmented or debugged sometimes!

And sometimes dreams are purely for entertainment purposes, or so it would seem.

If a dream has stuck in your head, you may want to write it down and think about some of the things listed above. You may discover something about your subconscious feelings you weren't aware you had. But remember that a dream may not mean anything at all and is certainly nothing to worry about.
