In the book I'm looking at, it doesn't distinguish between the 2. (I'm not that familiar, just looking in a book (gun list standard catalog of firearms) sidenote- It says your BSS sidelock (and there are several different types of BSS guns) was actually manufactured in Korea b/t 1983 and 1987. Miroku produced guns were imported and produced by a variety of companies such as Charles Daley, Browning, Winchester, and SKB. No actual guns are listed Miroku B.C. brand guns. If one gun says Browning made in Japan, and the other gives the Miroku brand name on the gun, but both are made for Browning, then I think you just are looking at different production years. Hope this helps. -Rick Yes. The sidelock is recognized as a better action than a boxlock. Also, the boxlock came in a plain field grade while the sidelock came with better wood and engraving.
