Does confirmation make us children of god and cleanse us of all sin?

Confirmation is a sacrament in many Christian denominations that strengthens and deepens a person's relationship with God, often seen as a rite of passage into spiritual adulthood. While it signifies a commitment to faith and the Holy Spirit's presence, it does not, in itself, cleanse one of all sin.
