The setting of The Magician's Nephew is partly in old London, where Digory lives with his Uncle Andrew in a large house. Some of the action then takes place in the "Wood Between the Worlds", where Digory and Polly find themselves in Charn, a dying world, where they awaken Jadis, the Queens who later appears as the White Witch in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The action then returns to London, after which the children, Jadis, Uncle Andrew and a London cabbie and his horse find themselves in the new, young world of Narnia, which is only just being created by Aslan.
