Is a soldier required to wear a uniform?

Wearing a uniform is a way to establish feelings of unity with your fellow soldiers. It also identifies you as a soldier and in times of conflict indicates the side you are on. It tells the enemy that you are not one of them but more important it tells others in your organization that you are on their side so they will not treat you as an enemy.
