Was there a Belmont vampire hunter in the past?

As far as today's records show, the Belmonts are, indeed, fictional. The Belmont family name is popular as a clan of vampire hunters fighting the spread of evil due to modern media's pop culture - more specifically, from the Japanese-created video game series Castlevania, in which the Belmonts were the main hunters that restores and defeats Count Dracula.
