How do you upgrade the pet emporium in sim pets ps2?

I think you either type the code IN the emporium, or just anywhere so long as you have the cheat gnome first; the cheat is: RIGHT, DOWN, RIGHT, UP, RIGHT, DOWN RIGHT, UP. I'm pretty sure that's it! Hope it works for you! If i remember it was confusing for me at first.
