Why does my hamster sleep during the night and is awake in the day?

This does happen occasionally. It could be because he is not having 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark, but its most likely is just a phase. Alike humans hamsters have sleeping patterns. If the problem continues you can try either darkening the room during the day time, or if you are really worried, you can take him to the vets.
