When and where PASCAL was developed?

PASCAL was developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s at the University of Zurich in Switzerland by Niklaus Wirth. The language was designed as a teaching tool to encourage good programming practices and structured programming. Its name is derived from the French mathematician and philosopher Blaise Pascal.
