Death is considered by God as humans' enemy 1 Corinthians 15: 26 reads. "And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing".
2'000 years ago Jehovah God sent his precious Son to redeem the human race from the curse of sin and death and to undo the damage caused by Satan. Read 1 John 3: 8; John 3:16.
Death was never part of God's purpose when He created the human kind. Genesis 2: 17 explains the origin of death, which is the choice that was made by Adam and Eve. They lost their perfection when they turned away from the source of life. By the way the Word SIN means " miss the goal or purpose".
With that in mind, the question is " Why do babies die?
God does not "take" children from their parents, as some have been told. Although the earth produces ample food, selfish political and commercial elements often hinder its distribution to those most in need, resulting in death due to malnutrition. Some children die in accidents, as adults do.
But all of us have inherited sin; ( lost of perfection ) from the moment of conception. Read Psalm 51: 5.
When Adam sinned God told him in Genesis 3: 19 that he would return to the ground, for out of it he was taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return." So babies return to dust just as all those who die.
We have all inherited sin (lost of perfection ) We are all born to die for the moment. Revelation 21: 4 reads. "And he will ( God will ) wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.
The provisions that God has put in place is the possibility to come back to life through the resurrection, promised in The Bible in John 5: 28,29.
Mark 5: 40-42 show that Jesus has the power to bring children and by extension adults back to life.
So to answer your question, which is: " When kids die do they go to heaven? The answer is, they return to dust until resurrection day, where they are kept in the memory of God.
Ecclesiastes 9. 10 reads. " All what your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave, the place to which you are going". That fact is as much for children as for adults.
