What are the pros and cons joining the peace corp?

One con about joining the Peace Corps is being away from family for an extended period. Another con might be going to a very remote area where modern conveniences do not exist. A pro to joining the Peace Corps is helping others. Another pro might be learning a trade and getting job experience.
