Where do crawdads live?

Crawdads, also known as crayfish, primarily inhabit freshwater environments such as streams, rivers, ponds, and lakes. They prefer areas with abundant vegetation and hiding spots, like rocks, logs, and submerged roots. Often found in both clean and slightly polluted waters, they tend to burrow into mud or sand to create shelters.
