Writing directions can be difficult. Here are some tips to help you write good ones:
- start with a list of every step you can think of
- go down the list and make certain all the steps are in order
- follow the steps and make sure you have not left anything out!
- use simple Words so that your reader won't have trouble understanding it
- write in short sentences, with each sentence being one step
- give facts and definitions if you need to, in order to help the reader figure out what to do in the step
- read your paragraph out loud to a friend (or have them read it out loud for themselves) to triple-check for errors or missing steps
