Why was Microsoft invented?

It might well be for the same reasons that the QWERTY keyboard was invented: to slow down typists (yes, really, that is a fact). What better for business than to make people 'Doze off in front of their "poisonal" computer, to be docile and uncreative and thereore satisfied for an incalculably long time with less and poor solutions? Divide (in this case with a myriad of third-company "applications" and "accessories") and conquer.
