In volleyball, players are allowed to spike the ball from the backcourt as long as they jump from behind the attack line (also known as the 3-meter line). If a player is behind this line when they take off to jump, they can execute a spike. However, if they take off from in front of the attack line, it is considered a fault, and the point is awarded to the opposing team.
